The first album by Eté Parfait.
Our interpretation of well- and lesser known folk-songs, new compositions/adaptations for old mediaeval/renaissance lyrics and original compositions in the same vein.
Dutch, English, Irish, French, Spanish and even a dash of Balinese gamelan!

Jessica Polak studied mediaeval French literature and English, sung in choirs, plays all kinds of music (folk, classical, world), writes poetry and songs and adapted and composed music for poems and old lyrics.
Renadi Santoso studied classical guitar and composed and arranged for all kinds of styles, incl. prog rock, contemporary, folk, jazz, world etc. and created music (improvised and composed) for dance and theatre.

Together they play a vast array of instruments. On this album can be heard: guitars (el. and ac.), recorders (sopr. and alto), tinwhistles, violin, bass guitar, sulings (bamboo flutes from Jawa and Bali), gangsa (Balinese metallophone from the gamelan) and vocals.

Duo Eté Parfait evolved from the BaBoum trio, which did the notorious 'Gluren by de Buren' gig in sept 2000 with Marieke Hennie on her self-made bamboo recorders.
After years of small-scale gigs as a duo the first CD was recorded 2011/12 and issued in 2013. On Bandcamp the download-version was issued in june 2014, exclusively with the bonus track 'Eté Parfait' from their forthcoming 2nd album. ... more
